Sydney as a financial and multicultural hub
has many advantages as big cities do. One of its many cons is that it's hard to
get bored. As shopping became in recent years more popular activity to shake
off stress let's focus and introduce some spots which are the most popular
among locals and tourists. Probably the easiest way how to satisfy shopping
needs is to visit George Street. You might need the whole day as the street is
one of the busiest in city and about 3 km long. It is home to big shopping
centres and thousands of small shops, coffee shops, restaurants, convenience
stores, pubs, etc.
The dominant building of George Street is
clearly The Queen Victoria Building known as QVB. Finished in 1898 has replaced
the old town markets. For decades this monument survived several changes and
today serves as a shopping centre. Frankly it is one of the most beautiful
shopping centres around the world. Just metres from the transportation hub Town
Hall it's easily accessible you don't even have to go out from the station just
walk underground. In QVB there are mostly well known fashion, jewelry, electro
or sport brands. There is so many shops that it's easy to get tired of walking,
observing and shopping.
Next to The QVB on the north side on the
corner of Market and George Streets there is Westfield Sydney Central Plaza.
Complex of shops, food courts, pubs and everything else what proper modern
shopping place offers. Among numerous Westfields Centres for shopping in Sydney this
one is unique because of the connection with Sydney Tower offering stunning
views. Launch big shopping with cappuccino in 360 Bar and Dining and some
selfies.

Different culture means different
experience. If you like negotiating and shopping for bargain head south.
Chinatown's most famous shopping place called Paddy's Market offers cheap low
quality clothes, souvenirs, bags, sunglasses, shoes, etc but what is really
worth is seafood and vegetables for best prices in the city.
TIP: Visit vegetable section half an hour
before closing that's when the real fun begins as sellers are trying to get rid
of everything and the prices falls down by half.
But if you are after really fresh seafood
there is only one place is Sydney. The Sydney Fish Market was established in
1945 and it's the world's third largest fish market. Located on Blackwattle Bay
in Pyrmont it is connected with Central Railway Station by Light Rail service.
There are daily wholesale auctions by seafood retailers.

What
about outlets? Do you fancy classic or modern style, sport or elegant fashion,
electronics, accessories, cosmetics. Australian and International and luxury
well known retails, food courts, big park house with a total of over 2000
spaces all under one roof. It is so easy to get lost and tired in DFO (Direct
Factory Outlet) in Homebush. With so many shops, sales, offers and deals in a
two store huge complex you will definitely find
something that will cheer you up. Another plus for DFO is accessibility by
public transport.
